Four Decades of Textile Innovation & Leadership

Scott Efird is a textile and apparel industry expert with more than 40 years of experience developing innovative textile products, solving complex technical challenges, and turning new ideas and technologies into commercially viable products.

His experience spans the textile value chain — from fiber, yarn and fabric construction to textile chemistry, finishing, testing, manufacturing, sourcing, product development, sustainability and commercialization.

Prior to founding Efird Textile Consulting LLC, Scott spent 18 years with VF Corporation/Dickies, ultimately serving as Global Director of Product Innovation. In that role he led global innovation strategy, textile development and commercialization across a three-to-five-year pipeline of new products and technologies. His Dickies career also included leadership responsibility for Global Fabric Development, Raw Material Purchasing and Technical Development.

Earlier, Scott spent 20 years with Milliken & Company in textile manufacturing, new product development, quality and innovation roles of increasing responsibility, including work resulting in three published patents.
